We harbor no evil against the NDC – Sammi Awuku

Akuapem North MP Sammi Awuku has struck an optimistic and conciliatory tone following the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) transition to opposition after the 2024 elections.
In a political landscape often marked by tension, Awuku’s remarks highlight his desire for national unity and progress.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Burning Issues program, the MP expressed goodwill toward the newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. Awuku emphasized that the NPP harbours no animosity over the election outcome.
“We wish them well,” he stated earnestly. “Our prayer is that the NDC succeeds in implementing policies that will benefit every Ghanaian.”
His words reflect genuine hope that the incoming government will prioritize the collective good of the nation, transcending political rivalry.
Awuku’s comments come as the NPP reflects on its electoral loss. As one of the few NPP lawmakers to retain his seat amid a strong NDC wave, he addressed the results with grace and humility.
Rather than assigning blame, Awuku acknowledged the democratic process, where voters decide the nation’s direction.
“I do not blame the voters,” he said candidly. “Elections come with repercussions or advantages, and this time, the result didn’t favor us.”
Awuku’s optimism and focus on unity serve as a call for collaborative efforts to ensure Ghana’s continued progress as the NPP transitions to opposition.
