NPP’s Dept. National Youth Organizer shares her story of a gory accident she witnessed

I decided to visit a friend’s saloon with my brother around 4pm yesterday. While in there, my brother stepped outside with the excuse that he needed fresh air which I knew wasn’t the case though.

Few minutes he was gone, I heard some really head splitting crash noise which got me to run outside.

To my dismay, my brother was standing by a lifeless body by the side of the road screaming and asking help, which either the onlookers were afraid because of how gory the accident was or they were just reluctant…. We got two guys to help finally though. We rushed him to Inkoom Hospital, Spintex Road, Accra but they couldn’t help so we had to rush him again to LEKMA Hospital what happened there will be for another time.

I rushed back to the seen to come look for the driver with the vehicle Number GN 7758- 17 who had caused that heinous crime and send him to the police. and this man according to some eyewitnesses, wanted to run after the accident but they were able to hold him down plus he said he wouldn’t leave with me without his car. Dude was thinking about his car and not the man dying…. Gracious me!

Well, the police patrol team came around and helped towed his car then sent him to the Manet Police Station .

We had to leave the station to the hospital again because we were handed some paper to send to the hospital.

I got back home around 12:36 am only to be called back and told the guy had gone back to be with his maker.

For the first time in a very long while, my confidence in the Police (Ghana Police Service) is being restored small small and I pray they restore it fully by handling this case very well.

NB: The driver claims he was on a normal speed so I’m imagining what would have happened if he was on top speed.

All the while the guy was lying on the floor dying, this driver did not even bother to come help rather, he was thinking about his car.
