A horrifying incident unfolded in Orozo, Nigeria, as gospel musician Oluwatimileyin Ajayi was caught with a severed human head concealed in a black nylon bag during a Thanksgiving church service.
The discovery was made on Sunday during a service marking the end of a seven-day fast. Brother Victor, a church member, first raised the alarm after spotting Ajayi behaving suspiciously near a river close to the church. Victor informed another member, Brother Amos, and they observed Ajayi, who sat quietly at the back of the church. When confronted, Ajayi threw the bag into the river, claiming it was empty.
Suspicion grew when Victor later saw someone moving near the riverbank with a similar bag. Two motorcyclists arrived shortly after, with one revealing that he had transported Ajayi earlier and noticed blood dripping from the bag.
The church members confronted Ajayi, who initially denied wrongdoing and attempted to flee. After a long chase through a nearby bush, four men managed to subdue and capture him.
Upon retrieving the discarded bag, they discovered the severed head of a young woman, later identified as Ajayi’s girlfriend. Police interrogation revealed that Ajayi killed her during an argument over her phone. He claimed she attacked him with a knife, injuring his hand, and that he retaliated by stabbing her in the neck.
Ajayi also alleged that a mysterious woman instructed him to deliver the severed head to her. A viral video shows Ajayi, visibly injured, being questioned by police officers before being taken away in a police van alongside the gruesome evidence.
The shocking incident has left the Orozo community reeling, struggling to comprehend how such a heinous act occurred during what was supposed to be a sacred gathering.
