Meet Young Ghanaian Lawyer Christine Ofosu-Ampadu, called to 3 Bars in 5yrs

Miss Ofosu-Ampadu has been called to Bar in 3 different countries

An enthusiastic, personable and self motivated individual. Christine has an academic background, coupled with professional experience in Criminal Prosecutions, Courtroom Advocacy, Multi-Jurisdictional Legal Knowledge, and a particular interest in Criminal Law and International Criminal Justice Issues, that is how she is best described.

After completing her 1st degree of Bachelor of Science (BSc), Land Economy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2011, Miss Ofosu-Ampadu’s dream of becoming a lawyer took off, when she gained admission to Kent University, where she perused her (LLM) Master of Laws in 2012-13.

Her quest did not stop there, in 2015, she enrolled into the Nottingham Trent University for her BAR professional training course. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2016 after completing her training course. In 2019, she passed the New York Bar exam, and subsequently called to the Bar in September 2020 as an attorney.

Christine was on October 1st 2021, called to the Ghana Bar; with this, she now practices at these jurisdictions.

 

PROFILE

Christine is a qualified barrister in England and Wales, and a qualified Attorney-at-Law in the State of New York. She holds an LLM in International Law and International Relations and a First Class LLB Degree from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom. Christine pursued her Bar Professional Training Education (BPTC) in Nottingham Trent University, UK. Her remarkable achievement was her ability to secure pupillage as an International Student, after completing her BPTC- a very rare occurrence. In February 2018, Christine was an Observer at the United Nations Youth Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Christine is a skilled advocate. She worked as a Crown Prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service, Nottingham UK, where she prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases. More recently, Christine worked as an intern with the Prosecution Division of the International Criminal Court (ICC). She has demonstrated an ability to work on complex legal cases and contributed majorly to the investigation and future prosecution of cases arising in the situation in the Central African Republic II.

Ultimately, Christine seeks to work as an International Lawyer with International Institutions such as the United Nations (UN), International Criminal Court(ICC), African Union (AU) and other like institutions.

In her pastime, Christine loves to give back to the community by speaking at public engagements on professional and career development. Christine is also a mentor and a career coach with a special focus on young women.
