Bullgod Advises ArtistesAgainst Costly Music Videos in 2025

Ghanaian entertainment pundit Bullgod has sparked a conversation about the relevance of music videos in today’s creative arts industry. Speaking on Hitz FM on January 25, 2025, he advised artistes to reconsider spending huge sums on music videos, labeling them as a wasteful investment in the current digital era.

“We are in 2025, and nobody needs a music video anymore,” Bullgod stated. “From an executive producer’s point of view, it’s costly and doesn’t make sense because people don’t consume them like they used to. It’s a total waste of time and resources.”

Bullgod highlighted the growing popularity of visualizers, a cost-effective alternative to traditional music videos. “People consume content quickly now, and visualizers are far more effective. Take Sarkodie’s ‘Messiah’ for example—it relied on short, engaging visuals and performed well because the internet drives consumption faster than ever,” he said.

While acknowledging that music videos contribute to an artiste’s image, Bullgod argued that the current era demands a more strategic approach to promotion. “Music videos may uplift an artiste’s brand, but the era we’re in doesn’t support the old-school approach. People want quick, engaging content, so don’t waste time or money searching for directors and shooting expensive videos in 2025,” he advised.

Bullgod’s remarks underline the need for artistes to adapt to changing consumption trends and focus on smarter, more efficient ways of promoting their music in a fast-paced digital world.
