LilWin reveals how he Spent Over $40K on Ramsey Noah and 1M+ Cedis on ‘A Country Called Ghana’ Promotions

Kumawood actor and comedian, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has shared details of the massive financial investment he made in producing and promoting his much-anticipated movie, A Country Called Ghana.

In an interview with Zion Felix on January 15, 2025, LilWin disclosed that he paid Nigerian actor Ramsey Noah an impressive $40,000 to star in A Country Called Ghana. He added that the figure covered only the actor’s fee, excluding accommodation and feeding.

“I paid Ramsey Noah more than $40,000,” LilWin stated. “There was another actor I wanted to feature, but his fee was too high, and I couldn’t afford it. When I called, they thought I was a Nigerian producer and quoted an even higher price.”

The Kumawood star didn’t stop there—he went on to reveal the staggering amount he spent on promoting A Country Called Ghana. According to LilWin, his promotional efforts exceeded 1 million Ghana cedis, showcasing his dedication to ensuring the movie’s success.

“The promotion I did for A Country Called Ghana is more than one million Ghana cedis,” he emphasized. “Ghanaians don’t understand promotion. For example, I bought a Benz, and it helped me. The attention that car brought me is one reason why ministers and MPs came to Accra to watch the premiere.”

LilWin highlighted that his promotional efforts included putting up over 20 billboards and producing over 4,000 branded T-shirts for the movie.

“Just calculate the amount of money I spent on that,” he said, underscoring the importance of promotion in elevating the visibility of A Country Called Ghana.

With such significant investments, LilWin aims to set a high standard in Ghana’s film industry and demonstrate the importance of strategic promotions for movie success.
